I am thinking of setting up a g2g Czar (oh the inword orf the week) -- Just to handle one event a month.
I was thinking of having this "Czar" be in charge of making the arrangements of when/and where to have a g2g in there own (or nearby ) city.
As a purely hypothetical example Del was this months "Czar" He would chose a place he beleives would be able to gives us what we want in a G2G-- enough room, good service,,, ect ect. So he chooses "Bob's house of Pancakes on Hwy 24" It would be his job to call "Bob" and ensure they can handle the group on a particular night, and see if MAYBE Bob could cut us a deal? (1/2 price on ice tea or something?) Or maybe Dell decides to host a BBQ in his yard- or a park-- or a lake? Whatever you get the point.
I would also like to see G2G's be attached to some event (car show, mud run, race track, ballet?, Whatever) Giving us more bang for our buck, so to speak. Making a drive a little more benificial. If possible.
We already have Campshoot and wheel, and Frostbite, Wrenching on big red- on the books so I would like to start in April? Maybe?
This would be a good opertunity for someone to have a G2G in thier home town.
Again this would be a strickly volenteery (yes I spelled it wrong- sound it out) thing.
Thoughts?
((And no Michelle, and now Duane - you can't host one, we will have to confine them to the state))
Good that carshows were mentioned. I`ve been pondering this recently. There is the all wheels carshow in Wichita, which is open to just about any kind of vehicle, and I believe some of the guys have made a showing before. There`s also the carshow here in Manhattan, may 8th I believe. I know most of us don`t wheel show trucks, but to show up with our rigs, get the word out, and let folks know who we are and about could be a good thing. I`m willing to pay an entry fee to do that and you never know, you could get a snazzy door prize too! As a side note, there`s a swapmeet in gardner, Ks on march 27.
Yard Art Classic Car Club is putting on the show in Manhattan in May. I belong to the club, but haven't been real active recently. They have a nice show. It is mostly street rods and muscle car era stuff. I'll get more info to post on it.
The BBQ place has been mentioned in Salina. That is fairly central to folks too.
I know there is a mud run in Abilene at the end of the summer, missed it last year because I was moving in that week , hope to see a few faces for that one!

At one time you mentioned trying to line up that BBQ place with the salina car show, something about there being a car show at the park directly behind the BBQ place?
There is also a car show, down by Grandma Max's once per year there in Salina. and one on Fathers day weekend at the Zoo.
