Been gone a week, come home yesterday, some new neighbors from down the road like to fly up the road and it's gravel up to my driveway, they raise lots of dust every time. If I was still on the job, I'd cure them.

The '77 was a dusty mess, but no bird poops. Today I took it to town as my wife had a dental appt, then I bought a lawn mower battery, then got something to eat, and filled it up at $3.149 a gallon ($34.80 total) and when I got home, much dust had been blown off. At dusk, I washed it, it still beads up with the Liquid Glass. I had noticed there were places I had not got all the haze buffed off, so today after the first wash, I did it again, then towel dried it. I think I got most all the haze off, it's hard to see on the white.

I put it back in it's side of the shed and hooked the battery maintainer back up.

Speaking of waxes, Liquid Glass, etc .... I had once mentioned waxes to my painter buddy whom painted it, he also does cars for shows, etc .... twice he has said he doesn't wax them. Last time it came up, he said wax doesn';t hurt, but the clear coat took the place of it. He might be right?

Just a picture of a common activity

Today, in daylight, took a look, still a lot of haze on the bed sides and tailgate, and a spot or two on the hood. I Think I had waxed it last time just before dark when it was coolest, and maybe let the "genuine original" "Liquid Glass" on too long before buffing. So, today being comfortable, low humidity, and the truck in a carport, I got myself a applicator and micro-fiber cloth and a can of that same Liquid Glass and while I have applied to entire vehicles before buffing, today I did the '77 in sections, like a bed side, a tailgate, a door, a hood half, etc .... with a thin application and wiped the haze off before moving to the next section.

Now
... It really looks GREAT.

Essentially what Roy told me he does. "Liquid Glass" isn't really a "wax" like old Simonize, Kit, etc was though ... but then I'm really only applying it to the clear coat on top of the base coat? It's the "old school, original formula" "Liquid Glass" in the later gold tin can with the red Corvette on the label. It wouldn't hurt me to "look it up" ....

What's the Big Deal About Liquid Glass Car Wax? | The Family Handyman .... "Well Duhhhh? on me. Seams L-G is a "Polish" after all, so color me "good" on that.
Liquid Glass Polish/Finish, 16 oz - Liquid Glass .... And now I feel pretty good about buying that extra case in August 2016, I bought an unopened box of 12 (date stickers on can bottoms say 072116) ... and with shipping works out to $16 and change per pint. It's more now but then was just $24 locally. I already had a few tins of it. I doubt I'll buy anymore... "Liquid Glass has an unlimited shelf life in closed containers" ... and I only have 17 new never opened pints now.

Replaced the oil filter adapter gasket. Oil was dripping a bit and getting on the header. Didn't want an oil fire under there.
