I feel like I'm missing something super obvious here but I can't figure out how to put the core support bushings from bronco graveyard into my 79 f150 with a 460. I got part number 23067K but I don't see how I can put the bushings/washers in to get it to actually hold the core support properly. I can jury rig it with the pieces in the kit but seeing as it was $70 I'd like to install it properly. I may need to brush up on my search term usage but I didn't see any posts that actually explain how to put it in.
In the order they are in the picture. That's my guess anyway. I do believe all these suppliers could have better instructions (or any at all)
it would make a lot more sense to me if piece 1 fit inside of piece 2 but it doesn't. The conical section protruding out of piece 2 creates a gap no matter what orientation or order it's put in.
Just an update, I got a hold of customer support via email. The order from top down is bolt, small washer, core support, three big washers, number 2 with the cone facing down, the frame, the other rubber piece with no cone, then the nut/washer piece with the cylinder part facing up.
I haven't completed the install yet but apparently it just takes A LOT of force to get the the metal pieces to fit into eachother... I was trying to start it all by hand first and couldn't get it to seat by hand.
You may or may not need all 3 washers, when I built my 79 I only needed 2 to get the fenders gapped properly with the doors.
With 3 there was less gap on the top than the bottom, just my experience

I will certainly keep that in mind, thanks for the tip
Yes, as OMFDave points out this is one of several key points for fender alignment. The others include the bolts that hold the inner fender to the firewall brackets and the fender bolts themselves. All of these should be loose or loosened for fender alignment. The several bolts that attach the inner fender to the core support don't allow much for adjustment so should be snug from the start.
