What Have YOU Done To Your Truck Today?
I busted stub axles with open diff and 750x16 tires.
I busted them with a Trak-Lok too.
I buts 2 axle assemblies at the u-joint.
I busted the pinion gear off
The Detroit Locker in the rear Dana 60 did cut down the breakage but I busted an axle in that too.
If I was going to get back into serious off-roading like I was years ago I think I'd be looking for a rear Dana 80 and a front Dana 60.
I hear the pinion gear is the weak link in the Dana 60.
With my '79 running on propane it was as good as being fuel injected.
Where the tie rod end bolted to the knuckle wallered out I used brass wrist pin bushing to tighten it back up.
I drove it like that for years.

If you’re only putting it in four-wheel-drive for a few minutes, not a problem. If you’re using four-wheel-drive for a day or a weekend outing, then CTM recommends greasing the joints.
At least that’s what they did in the beginning. Not sure how they feel about it now.
I believe that is the suggested maintenance. So you’re not overdoing it.

If I run it more than just around the yard I grease em.
