Why all the Chevy Ads?

So, I've been wondering for ages, just thinking that I must be missing something obvious. But I can't seem to find out why. So here it is: Why are there all these Chevy banner ads on FTE? I mean, they don't bother me, I just don't see why they would be here of all places. Maybe there's a really simple answer for this, or maybe there's a better way/place to ask this, but the curiosity was killing me.
Thanks

That's your bailout dollars at work

FTE makes money off the ads you see. The internet ad companies target certain audiences. Ford-trucks.com will tend to get a lot of automotive advertisements due to the viewers being interested in automotive stuff. Since Chevy is buying a lot of ads, you get to see more of them. I don't know how wise it is to advertise on a Ford related site, but there's lots of stuff I don't know.

I do know with my supporter badge I don't have any of those ads on my screen. Are they Chevy truck ads, or just Chevy in general?

They're Chevy and GMC, some general and some specific to their truck line. I'm not bothered by it (honestly, I have never owned a GM product, so I am not one to talk), but it just struck me as odd. I really ought to become a supporter one of these days... there's no telling how much $$$ this site has saved me.

As Greg said, it's an alternative to the little blue e. I stumbled across it a few years ago and love it. I don't have any of those icon things in my top menu bars, just words (the way I like it). The spell check that you can use in forums like this is nice, and hitting Ctrl and the + sign at the same time makes the words bigger Internet explorer used to just zoom in when you hit those buttons and made you scroll left and right all the time to read things.

You really should consider trying it. You can always uninstall it if you don't like it.

Now I've got to see if I can find that adblock thing Parkland was talking about.

Another thing to consider. The owners of FTE (Internet Brands) own many other auto enthusiasts web sites, including sites dedicated to GM products. I'd be willing to bet you would see similar advertising if you where to visit those sites. As pointed out above, becoming a supporter yields no ads,and the pages load about 3 time faster as well.
