06' fx4 engine light flash
Hi everyone i have an 06 fx4 5.4 and i was wondering if anyone could tell me why when im going down the interstate and floor it, it seems to bog or surge and then the engine flashes and sounds like motor is missing but i let off and it fine and the light goes away. Also when i first start it, it idles smooth but after driving its a little rough. 50,000 miles ive only owned it for about 7k. Also is it normal for it to kinda feel delayed when it downshifts? and you can feel it shift pretty firm my dad also has an 06 with 30k and it shifts smooth. Other then this minor setback i love this truck.

i also forgot to mention that when driving down the road at night there is something that draws juice for about 5 seconds my lights dim and you can hear the fan when on high slow down a little bit then after 5 sec everything goes back to normal. I drove 30 miles once and it did it 5 times and then the same distance again and it never did it?????

The second part makes me think a loose or bad connection to battery or alternator. Are the terminals corroded? Are they loose? Is the battery secured? Is your voltage fluctuating? A short or bad ground can do that.
