They're all awesome trucks. The 6.0l, apart from being considered less reliable by the public, is a vast improvement in power over the 7.3l. The torqshift transmission is a huge improvement over the 4r100 too. The 6.0l may take a a little work to be made as reliable as a 7.3l but it can be done pretty easily. There are tons of people out there with good 6.0l experiences so I wouldn't worry about that.
The problem, in my opinion, with looking for a 7.3l is their prices are way up right now, finding one with low mileage can be a chore, and mileage aside, the components are old. I know there are lots of guys running their old 7.3ls with 200k+ on them, but at that age stuff starts breaking down.

I'm one of those guys now. 234K on my 2000 SD. I hope mine has been maintained like i think is has. Started up this morning in 12 degree weather, no block heater, one GP cycle. I forgot to plug it in last night.
Funny guys . . . No it was actually a Chevy!! I know the Duramax is a good engine, but I had a LEMON!!! I get burned and it is hard to stay in that vehicle. Just want to thank you all for the input. I went for a long drive the following day .. 90 miles... found a 2007 F-350 4x4 Crew .. Loaded to the gill inc sunroof.... 69k miles. I lef them with a "nice" chevy and drove the F-350 home. This morn.. it was like my 2000 F-250 was... cold natured. . I have drove the truck about 200 miles so far and love it. Nice to be back in a Ford Super Duty!
I was gonna say: "So your not diggin' that Titan too much are ya?", could also be a tundra though...
Im ashamed to say that before i bought my superduty in 2008 i was looking at the new tundras. Everyday when i pull up next to a new tundra at a redlight i just smile because i didnt buy one. (what was i thinking at the time?)
