Another gearing question...

ok so i have a 87 5.0 with a 4 speed and my axel tag says it has 3.55 gears right now i have 235/75/15's wich end up like 28.5 or 29.5" tall and im going to get some 31's

so now the question will me haveing 31's an 3.55's put my motor under any more of a strain
I guess my real question is will i HAVE to change gears

for that size tire you will be fine.

yeah, I changes from stock 235/75R15's to 31's on a 3.55 truck and it was relatively minor change.
