While backing my truck into my driveway today, I heard a "pop" and felt it in the steering. Immediately it felt as though I lost my power steering. Having lost it before due to a blown PS hose, I hopped out to see PS fluid all over. This wasn't the case. Curiousity had me take the truck around the block. Hard as ever pulling out of the driveway making a right hand turn. Down around the block I made all left hand turns, and all was fine.
So, left hand turns are easy, PS works great. Right hand turns are a pain, feels like no PS.
Is it possible for something to happen to the PS for right turns but not left turns? Or did I break a steering component that is now binding up when I make a right hand turn?
probably the power steering box. it has a valve inside of it that controls the pressure for witch ever way your turning. might be blown or stuck do to lack of fluid. just had mine do it last friday when the pressure line blew out of the fitting. one of fords dummest designs. there the only ones that use that set up.

Does the fix for this require a new power steering box?
