My 2000 F350 bumper to bumper warranty ends in 3 months. After searching I went with Warranty Gold. Not full B to B but covers most of the things. $1765. This will take it to 100,000 miles and 9yrs and 9 months form date of puschase. I expect to do a lot of RVing and I want to be covered for all major problems. Has anyone delt with Warrenty Gold?? Richard
You need to check your warranty guide. 5 years max on engine. Then see what is covered after 36,000 miiles. Not Much. NO trans, NO 4 X 4, No turbo. As I said not much by Ford after 3 years or 36,000 miles. 100k miles but little coverage + $100 deductable. Check your Warranty Guide. Richard
My truck is long out of warranty now. It's a 1997 with 129,000 miles on it. I guess the reason I question extended warranties is the cost. The reason people are willing to sell you a warranty is that they are making money in most situations. It may be extra protection, but I always choose to simply maintain my vehicles as well as possible rather than lay out the extra cash.
I'm not a big fan of after-market warranties (as most of you already know!), but most everyone I've talked to has had good service with Warranty Gold. Just make sure your dealer doesn't have a problem with them- many dealers won't deal with these companies because of the hassles. You pay the dealer, then submit your claim to the warranty company for re-imbursement. You may not get paid if the warranty company denies your claim for one of many reasons. That's why it's best to go to a dealer that will honor your warranty.
