Finally!
Dad finally stuck his truck. And he called me to pull it out after another truck failed.
The story is that he and mom were invited to a small mardi gras party one night. The parking lot was simply the pasture where the owners home sits. South Texas is a muddy mess this winter because of lots of heavy rainfall. Evidently, dad's right-front tire on his 2500HD Chevy finds a hog-wallow and goes down several inches just from the weight of the vehicle.
He engaged 4WD to try and reverse out, but instantly buried the passenger side.
A late model 2WD Dodge Ram couldn't make the pull and ended up stuck. Luckily, the Dodge's 20" factory tires didn't dig too bad and the party-goes were able to push it out of the way.
10pm at night, my phone rings. It's Dad. He's stuck. I drive the 30 miles eagerly to pull out his Chevy.
I'll tell you what... I almost couldn't get that truck out! Several attempts in 4WD allowed my Wrangler MT/R Kevlars to dig some pretty deep holes. I finally attempted a more aggressive "******" style extraction which did free his truck.
My 30' recovery strap did well. Because of the heavy brush, a straight pull wasn't an option. And when I got to the end of that strap, at even less than 10mph, the back end of my F250 slid over 2 feet. It was enough to get that heavy front end up out of the mud; the job was done!
Sorry to let you guys down... no video this time. It was dark and pretty chilly that night for this part of the country. Had to share the excitment with my buddies here.
Awe... poor baby! Just kidding! That mud looks like chocolate pudding! Also, that a lot of truck sitting on those small tires... doesn't surprise me that he got stuck.
BTW, is the paint fading on that Chevy truck already?
i pulled my buddys 94 chevy 2500 hd out of 2 feet of snow with a 91 ford explorer with a 7 ft plow on it , twice.Funny , very funny . that was a time where all my buddy talked about how great a chevy was and how he could plow anything and how much ford sucks.i wish i had a camera.need less to say he now drives a f250.
Ha! I can't believe you posted this! The exact same thing happened to my Dad a couple of weeks ago in his Chevy 2500. Sunk in mud down to the frame. I had to pull him out with my 250 (I always keep a tow strap with me).
I still haven't let him live it down. In fact, I just emailed him the pictures again the other day to make sure he hasn't forgotten! If I wasn't too lazy to learn how, I'd post some pics too. Really not necessary, though, because they look pretty much just like yours! Same truck color and everything.
I did snap a couple of nice pictures of my F250 (not stuck) hooked up to his 2500 (stuck) right before and after I pulled him out. I just couldn't resist.
Those GM trucks have tiny tires, tell the old man time to get some real tires on it.
What made it even better was that he just got a set of brand new, "oversize" Goodyear Silent Armors, 265/75/16E. The LT285s wouldn't fit stock heigth on a stock rim without cranking on the torsion bars.

I felt bad for him... so I did confess that's one stuck to my, oh how many, 16! Still, it is good to talk a little smack with the old man! Absolutely.

The ground in this area is like a sandy loam, in some ways quicksand like if it's stirred up enough. The hogs and gophers make spots that have swallow up any kind of weight it seems.
And no, the paint isn't fading. I think it might be some frost already setting in that night, maybe the camera playing tricks.

Pictures and videos are even better! Makes a story really come to life.

I didn't even know any manufacturer was putting 16" wheels on trucks anymore. My 04' has 285/75R16 on it now with stock rims/stock height with room to spare. even those 265s look tiny.
