Cruise Control Doesn't Work- PSOM??

95 Bronco 5.8L. Electric cruise control not vacuum style. Cruise does not work. Have replaced switches and have done voltage checks at the harness plugging into the electric servo and it passes the check. No problems with the speedo, shifting, or the O/D light. All is good there. Can a bad PSOM cause the cruise not to work? If so, is there a way to test the PSOM. I did the frequency test on PIN 3 of the cruise control harness and from the readings I was getting, they were all over the place, that the PSOM could be faulty. At 10 miles an hour the readings were 3 up to 10 back to 2 Hz. The diagnostic information said it should hold at 20 Hz at 10 mph and climb about 25 Hz for every 10 mph over that. Does that make sense to anyone?

I know nothing about the PSOM other than I calibrated the speedometer.

Twice I have seen air bag light codes and cruise and horn failures. Replacing the clockspring fixed all on both occasions.

Air bag light turns on and then turns off as it should. As I said in the original post, the cruise switches are sending the appropriate voltage to the servo so the clockspring is working properly.

has ford performed the cruise control fix on your bronco yet? if not you might take it in and have that done. then call back a day or two later and tell them your cruise doesnt work know. i would imagine they would have to fix it at there cost. I know its not very honest.
if the psom is the problem you will want to find one from the same year and it must be from a bronco. the 95 was the only year for this specific part if i recall. the mileage will be off also at that point.

what size tires are you running currently?

I had a CC problem (wouldnt lock on) on my 93 EB bronco. I studied the EVTM and found out that the CC circuit does have a disable circuit that works through a brake line pressure switch. There is also a second "disable" circuit, but I dont recall what triggered it, I could dig out the EVTM if someone needs that info.

On the 93 it was Drivers side down on top of the frame at a brake line. It was the standard pressure sensor in a brass "T" block on the line. I think the recall ones were the later version that are up at/on the Master cylinder. Actually, had my 93 been up there at the MC I could very well had big problem.

The plastic (?) housing of the pressure switch had actually disintegrated, allowing the 12V wiring to come loose and "swing in the breeze". Good thing nothing was close enough down there to short against, or it could have gotten hot enough to start a fire.

Years later, I discovered that it would have been covered by the recall, but was far easier for me to just go ahead and fix. Eventually went to a dealer for a visual, so they would stop sending the @##%$ notices!

If your speed-O works, then it is likely the CC would work. My CC still works great, as does my E4OD after the converter change and shift kit------years ago

The recall switch has been done. All that is working as it should be according to the diagnostic tree. Like I originally posted and asked, does anyone have a way to test the PSOM. If you hook up a meter that reads Hertz, I get nothing at pin 3 of the CC plug into the servo. I should get a reading of 25 hz. I don't, it fluctuates all over the place. My understanding is that reading comes from the PSOM. Any ideas???? That is my reason for asking about the PSOM. Thanks for replying.
