This '79 Supercab 4x4 F150 I picked up has the bottom rad hose rubbing on the crossmember. I bought another hose thinking it had the wrong one on. The new hose is the same way. If I twist it so it doesn't touch the crossmember then it rubs the P/S belt. It is a tight fit between the crossmember and the P/S belt. Parts guy said there was no difference between the Supercab with leaf springs and the regular cab with coil springs. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks.
I looked at a couple other '79's and the coil spring ones have a different front cross member than my leaf spring F-150 and the lower rad hose doesn't rub on them. The parts guy said it showed only one lower rad hose; no difference for regular cab or super cab. I find it hard to believe Ford built these trucks with the hose rubbing. Numberdummy, can you tell me if there is a specific hose for the 1979 F150 Super Cab 4x4, 400 CID, p/s, no a/c? Thank you sir.
