Frozen Oil PumP?
Ccorn, people sometmes use grease to prime an oil pump. FACTORY PROBLEM! I'd try to hold there feet to the fire on replacing it!
I have had dizzies wear out and start to drag internally, then they break the shear pin. The timing might change only a little at a time as the shaft slips

i think i would fight them over the whole motor! they either screwed up, or he oilpump was defective. did you look at the oil pump shaft? it should have been twisted at the least. i have had a few lockup in old engines, never had one do it in a new one. the timing change may have been the roll pin twisting in the dist. shaft. i have had to drill each side out and then pull the gear off the shaft to get the peice out of the shaft. the missing teeth sound like the dist. was not aligned with the cam correctly.
