ICP DUTY Cycle %

What is the max duty cycle % you should see on the gauge. I've heard 50% before and I can hit that @ 20lbs of boost ! Just wondering what you guys are seeing ??????? And what PSI ?????

Depends on the tunes, man. With my hot tunes & stock sticks, I would hit ~65% but my ICP was tanking. Now, I'm only getting into the 40% range and holding 3000ish. In your stock tune, you should see about 2500-2800psi and 45%ish for DC.

Oh, and I was maxing 28-29psi on my van turbo

Thanks for the input Joe. That was in my 60T tune. I haven't really looked at it in stock. Just making sure things are in a normal range ! So the higher the better ??????

The lower % is better. What PSI are you topping out at?

its going to depend on the strength of your pump. The lower the % the easier your pump is working.

What you need to do is a few acceleration runs while logging in different tunes, preferably on flat road or the same stretch of road if not, and it needs to be a place to safely get going pretty fast. Like up to 80 or 90 from 50 or so.

I'll have to see what the PSI is when running. I've got it on my scan gauge, so its kinda hard to look and drive at the same time. Need someone else in the truck to watch it. Thanks for the info guys !

Oh -- Scan Gauge... Then never mind the logging part. It is a bit tough to watch the gauge while driving, but it's not too bad when there's not a lot of traffic to keep an eye on.

Got a digital camera that records video? Do some old school data logging.

Even better ! Got a high def professional video camera that I use for work. Now I just need a way to hold it, while I'm driving (safely of course) lol

You mean low pressure oil? You can add that in pretty easily. ~$60 sender...

Get some gaffers tape (duct tape for us stagecraft people) and tape it to the dash. I taped my camera to the dash above the speedo for some driving video. Pull a Gene and tape the gauge and camera to the dash. Voila! Instant data logger. It'll even pick up the "oh crap i just passed that cop doing 90"

1st question:

Stock 99.5-03 trucks will hit the "electronic limiter" of about 65% in the tuning.

Aftermarket tuning often allows the IPR to basically close completely off at around 90%.

2nd question: Boost or HPO pressure? Stock boost should be 17-20 PSI while stock tuning usually calls for 2700-2800 PSI at max load.
