Hey guys,
I need to know if alloy wheels off of a 2002 ford econoline van, will fit the pattern on my 1960 f-100, any ideas how do I check quikly, one of those deals I don't want to pass up, but no good if they don't fit.....apparently a van conversion outift was not utlizing them and is offering them very inexpensively......
thanks for any info.
Brian
I don't know for sure about vans but the bolt paterrn on pickups waschanged with the 97 models. Ford went to some metric pattern. You could measure to see if bolt circle is 5 1/2 inches, which is what you need for your truck. A local wrecking yard or maybe a parts house should have a plastic gauge that will tell you if the van wheels will fit. Let us know what you find out'
Your F-100 has a 5 on 5.5 pattern and Ford Vans have never had that pattern, so I doubt if they will fit. The Van probably has a 5 on 4.5, but I'm not sure.
Checking the FTE right side "Specifications" column: Econoline shows two wheels. E-150 use 5 lugs with 5.5" bolt circle and larger Econolines use 8 lugs with 6.5" bolt circle. Econoline 15" wheels are only 6" wide.
Ok guys, I've decided seeing is believing, I'm going to go measure the wheels, if everything is like pat indicate's it is, these wheels may work, I am still going to measure them before I buy them....wish me luck I'll let you all know what I find out this weekend. Can anyone tell me the name of the little plastic tool that tire shops use to measure the bolt patterns? I have not had a chance to just stop by and tire shop and ask....next question where could I get one........
by the way after this weekend it will be for sale cheap!!!
Got access to a FAX machine? I could send a paper version of the plastic job.
Sorry, but Vern is wrong. The Ford E-100 & E-150's do have 5 on 5.5 pattern (at least up to early 90's). My 56 panel is the same. The only econolines that aren't are the early to mid 60's falcon-based van's and pickups.
The other problem is offsets and clearances. I bought '90 Ford alloys for my '84 conversion only to find they would clear my caliper mount or tie rod end. ..so I rebuilt my front end with post '86 spindles.
