ok, I have an 01 explorer sport, and I want more ground clearance. I'm thinking of staying with the factory sized tires but dont want it to look stupid. since I'm always on this forum and dont realy hang out much on the midsize SUV forum, I though I'd ask you what you all thought. this is with an estimated 3 inch lift judging by the backup lights. lol (copied and pasted the backup lights under the pic, then copied and pasted, the wheels, tires, and ground, enough to cover the difference) with the way the wheel arches are shaped, I think it'd look ok with the factory tires. but want your honest opinions on what it will/would look like.

Going from a '75 setup to a '77 shouldn't be a problem. As far as I know Ford made all of them the same. If the bolt holes don't line up just make a mod. I did that on mine and didn't even have to plug the factory holes.

I don't think it would look bad at all, but any higher than the tires would look too small. Nice explorer.

Getting 3 inches out of the back is not gonna be easy. It's a spring-under, so you can't add a block. An add-a-leaf won't get you anywhere near 3 inches. And a spring-over conversion will add over 4 inches. The only way to get 3 inches is to replace the entire leaf spring (not cheap).

Getting 3 inches from the front is no problem. All the lift parts from a torsion bar Ranger will interchange.

I think it would look just right with the factory setup after all some extra clearance there is a good thing! Go for it nice looking explorer by the way.
