Wink '99 Missing when warming up

My LATE '99 develops a miss kind of thing as it warms up-it does not do it when its stone cold or completely warmed up.
I can watch the temp guage move up and feel the engine start missing as I drive slowly through my neighborhood in the morning-it starts missing when the guage is between the lower end and the first line above it, and this missing only last around 5 minutes or so, and it runs well when its all warmed up.
Recently I was in 17* temps over night for 2 nights and we let the engine warm up for about 20 minutes before we drove and there was no miss.
I have replaced the sensor at the front of the drivers side head (forgotten its name) which was recomended by some folks in anouther thread I started on this same situation.
Would there by chance be a code stored even if there is no check engine light on that might shed new light on this?
It seems to be getting worse........any suggestions??

Try pulling the ICP plug when it starts to miss. See if it continues to miss then.

My early '99 has done the same thing for the last 6yrs & 100,000 mi. no codes stored either. I am going to clean my ebp sensor & tube soon or replace both & see if that helps.

I unplugged the ICP (the old one) before the new one arrived (the newer upgraded Ford one) and besides my engine light being on the whole time the engine did not miss at all-I should also point out that it didn't seem to miss for the first couple of months with the new one installed....and like I said it IS missing now and seeming to get worse.....what does this mean??

BTW: I replaced my EBP with a brand new one about a year ago and cleaned out the tube-(it was in good shape) just did this as a precaution while I was in the area replacing the water pump.

Means you might have gotten setiment into the ICP again. Have you tried cleaning the old one and swapping them out then cleaning the new one?
I'm pretty sure I need to replace mine too. I get slight little misses and very slight vibrations when chugging down the road at 30mph and about 1K rpm on lvl ground. I figure it's the ICP but they are 180 bucks and I haven't been able to afford one plus I have a lot going on but it is on my todo list.

No, I haven't tried cleaning the old one-I will now..What would cause this sediment to collect so fast in a brand new one? my engine only now has right at 90k original miles-about 88k with the original one......any way the synthetic oil is causing this? I've been running it since right at 70k miles.....

My issue hasn't gotten worse, it just has a little stumble 'till the temp. gauge needle moves just past the first line (beginning of the box) on the factory gauge. Synth. oil should have no part in your issue. Maybe an IPR (injector pressure regulator) problem. I don't know how to insert a link yet, but search todays forums and you should troubleshoot this problem.

It's worth looking at, specially since you already have a ICP laying around. I'd clean the old one, pop it in and see what happens. If it clears up then take a look in the new one and see what the deal is. It would be good to know if somehow you're getting junk in the ICP because if you are then where is it coming from, what kind of damage is it causing and how can it be fixed before it causes a catastrophic failure, if it comes to that.

UPDATE: Yesterday morning it was about 36* here and I started the truck and let it warm up for just 5 minutes, drove off slowly as usual and NO MISS.
It doesn't miss in the afternoon when I start it from cold-(its warmer then)
Its 46* THIS morning and I'm about to warm up for 5 minutes again-will advise later.

I let the engine warm up for just 5 minutes again at 46* temps and drove off slowly, NO MISS.......did the same the next day with temps outside at 36* again, NO MISS.
After work when the truck has sat for 8-9 hours I just start it, take my time buckling my seatbelt, locking the doors, putting my sunglasses on and drive off slowly-NO MISS.....I would think that if the ICP sensor is somehow clogged that the temp would not effect anything......
In the summer when its in the 80s in the am I just start & go with NO MISS.
May be the darn thing is just trying to tell me to warm it up a bit......

Maybe but I find it a bit odd. Do you have a scan tool like a AutoEnginuity scanner? It would be a good thing to have so you can run a Key On Engine Running test when it is missing.
I have to wonder if maybe it's a sticky injector if not your ICP. Maybe you're not getting enough fuel.
I would check fuel pressure after your fuel bowl and see if you're maintaining fuel pressure.

My 2000 just started this never had any cold start problems before. Mine turns on the service engine soon light on when it miss's and as it quits missing the light goes out. No codes.

Well that's a bit odd, usually that will throw a code. Have you tried leaving the scan tool on it while running and while it's missing to see if you can see anything odd? Also you could try pulling the plug on the ICP and see if the problem goes away and stays away in which case that would indicate that you have a bad ICP.
