Here's Big Red

Hey guys, thought I would share my 2003 F-350, 241K, I am the guy that "was" doing 20K oil intervals and 5K oil filter changes. I have since backed down to 10K oil, 5K filter. Very happy with this truck. I drive 150-250 miles a day, this truck loves fuel additives, you can really tell when there are none in system.

I'll do it right now, thanks D8chumley! "Big Red" is my daily driver and my money maker. I have done a couple 500 mile days and one 800 miler. Can't believe it, it's gotta go another three years. By that time it'll have at least 400K, I'll keep you guys posted.

I'm doing @ 30 miles per day right now, but come April we're going to one of our other quarries out in Leola, that'll put me back over the 100 mile per day mark again. I'm shooting for the 300k mark. This is the most miles (140k) I've ever had on a DD. Sometimes I get a little paranoid with the noises she makes. It left me sitting with the HPOP last April, I still haven't fully regained that " I'll drive this thing cross-country" feeling.

That is a nice looking truck! Just curious, why did you change your strategy with the extended oil change?

I used to do 1250-1500 mile weeks, I'm doing 650-850 now and with the miles/hours on the engine I increased the interval on the oil. I'm using Rotella T 5W-40 and have been since 61K.
