EGT probe problem

So I just got my egt probe installed and hooked it up to my edge insight and I am getting no reading from it, just N/A. I took the truck out and got it up to temp and nothing. Do you think I just got a bad probe from the manufacture or am I missing something?

Call insights support number and let them troubleshoot it for you. You might need a new update.

Here's what I would do. Make sure you find the EGT PID (I think the one you want is under Ford specific?), unplug from back of device, unplug from OBDII DLC, then plug egt probe lead into OBD!! DLC connector (ensure it seats fully)...then plug in OBDII into DLC....then plug into the back of the device. Turn the key on, engine off...to see if you are getting areading? If so, fire her up and check your temps.

Thanks for the suggestion but no luck. There is no ford specific egt reading on it. The egt is displayed, just getting N/A. All connections have been checked.

Teppler - The device is up to date via the usb cable. Both the company I bought it from and edge are closed on the weekend. I have to wait til monday.

MoyockPowerstroke - Sending reps your way. I went out and tried it again (x3). It is working now. I had to reset the whole darn thing. I just have to set it up to show what I want now but the egt is working. What temp should I let it get down to in order to know that it has cooled off enough to turn the vehicle off?

I let mine go down to 300*F before shutting her down....my whole family is trained. If they want drive my truck...don't turn on anything power consuming until the ModVolts reaches at least 13.5v and don't shut it down until the EGT's are @ 300*F.

It checks the voltage on your truck. Lets you know how many volts your batteries are putting out. I know on the 05 & 06's the Insight shows mod volts.. Let me know when you get a chance to check it out...Thanks... Rocky

Thanks, I was just doing a search on this. Figured out what it monitored. From what I have been seen it wont work on our model year. But I will try it out any way and let you know what I can find. I have to lay off on it for the night since that is all I have been doing since I got my insight on thursday. The wife is getting a little upset.

I went through the insight this morning and cannot find any option for mod volts. I know it is on the software. I will try to load it on as one of the monitors after work today to see if it works that way. Have you tried to do it this way?

Yes I also tried it that way I do have it loaded on the unit but only show N/A while hooked up in vehicle.. I just can't understand why the 03 does not support a simple thing like Volts!!!
