Just wondering, since this is my first diesel, what would I experience if I started having trouble with my EGR valve, or if there's something I can look out for which might be leading up to an EGR issue but not having symptoms yet? My truck is running fine, but I do alot of driving currently without pulling a trailer. I bought the truck because I WILL BE pulling trailers and such a little in the future but with everyone saying if you don't pull with it NOW you'll have problems it's just got me a little worried. I mean I drive it hard at times and put a load on the engine, but as far as pulling I dont do a whole lot of it at the present time.

As long as your driving is lenthy and get that motor hot, a couple WOT 2K rpms, I would not worry about it.

Driving at 30 mph and sitting at stop lights constantly is what is gonna kill it.

Mine gave me no warning at all. Was running great. Parked it for an hour. Came out to leave and it just wouldn't run.

Thanks guys. I definitely don't let her idle much at all, and I never take her out for short trips. She gets good and hot and I always run her wot for a while every time I'm in her. (Maybe I should reword that. Almost sounds a little dirty)
