Any tricks to getting a pesky oil filter off? I've tried the leather belt trick, poking holes and turning with a screw driver, I bent a metal filter strap wrench, got another one that are like pliers but still to no avail. And before anyone asks, yes, I am turning it the right way. Apparently the po did not!

I went out and found a strap wrench with a 1/2 socket end, I busted about 100 blood vessels in my face but finally got the #$^&^'n thing! lol.
Now, I have another problem, very little oil came out from the pan, more came out from the filter, but has since stopped dripping. When I check the dipstick, it still reads full. It has been in the 20's here for several days...is the oil too thick to flow out? Should I plug in the block heater for awhile to get the juices flowing? I don't want to add the new oil if there is still nasty oil and crap in there. Alltogether, I probably on got a quart or two of oil out.
uhhh that is an odd one.i suppose you could toss the filter back on if less than a couple quarts came out and run it for 5 minutes to warm the oil up but that still dont sound right
You should have run it up to operating temp before pulling the filter. That cold oil will never flow out of the pan unless you heat it up somehow. I don't think the block heater will do it tho. Maybe a torpedo heater aimed under the truck will help.
Ouch. I always change mine after I get home from work. I let it drain for about 30 minutes before putting the plug back in. Have you checked to see if there is anything plugging the drain hole in the pan? Maybe prod it with a srerw driver and see if the oil runs anybetter.
Thanks to no wind and y'alls suggestions, I was able to use a small space heater. After about a minute and a half, it started to goop out then start flowing! Thanks for the help!
