wiring question(s)

Ok, so I'm getting ready to wire up the Duraspark ignition in my converted '61. I'm needing an ignition feed-12v type. There is a 3 wire connector that was for the original 6 cyl engine coming out of the harness on the firewall. One wire to the temp sender, one wire to the oil pressure sender and one wire to the coil. I see no ballast resistor, so there must be a resistor wire somewhere.
My questions are: First, is the resistor wire in the portion of the harness from the connector to the engine, or is it further down in the actual truck harness? For that matter does the truck even have the resistor wire?
Also, if the harness is a straight ignition feed at that plug, is there any reason I can't use the same feed for both the coil and the 12v to the Duraspark?
I've already added a ballast resistor and the bypass line from the solonoid and also the feed from the solonoid to the timing wire on the Duraspark. Just have the 2 ignition feeds to hook up and she should breathe fire.

What your truck has now:

COLF12250A .. Resistor Wire-Ignition Coil (Motorcraft DY37)

61.49" long / Color coded Pink / 1.30-1.40 ohms resistance / #20 gauge wire.

Fits all 1960/73 Passenger Cars, Trucks, Bronco's and Econolines.

D7AZ12250A .. Resistor Wire-Ignition Coil (Motorcraft DY213)

49" long / Color coded Green w/Red stripes / 1.30-1.40 ohms resistance / #16 gauge wire.

Fits all: 1974/86 Passenger Cars, Trucks, Bronco's and Econolines.

Ok, so is that buried in the harness, or is it the pigtail that plugs into the harness and runs to the coil?
I guess what I'm really asking is; is the power available at the plug full ignition voltage, or is it the voltage reduced by the resistor wire?
Having a full igniton feed available at that plug would simplify my wiring enormously.

I think what he is saying is that it should have a coil with an internal resistor. You need to power the system and turn key on and check voltage at the coil to make sure there is full 12v available.
