I HAVE A RANT!!!

most of you may be thinking because it was me..who cares..but it happened to me..it can happen to you..I was in a PM with one of our members..not going to say any names cause I would like him to stick around and learn..but he needed a part I had..its not a cheap part but I didn't really have any use for it..I asked him how much he wanted to spend..he said 30 plus the ride..I said ok give me your address and ill see how much to ship..he gave it to me..took me couple days to find it and get it to the PO for shipping..i told him it was packed away and i needed to find it...no big deal 10 bucks to ship so i shipped it..after thinking it over I was going to tell him in a PM happy B-day (not really but you get the point) its yours for the taken..most of you guy's know I gave a lot of parts away to some of you and it would be no surprise I gave this away..a couple days go buy(5 day's) before I got back on the Internet to PM him to see if he had got it yet ..no answer...I send a MSG to his profile box when I see he is on line and has been active every day...i was thinking maybe his PM box is full..no answer....I'm not out any thing I needed...had it in my head it was a loss any way's ... but to skip out on a guy after you get the part is not cool..he didn't know at the time I was going to give it to him..that maybe why he didn't answer...even then..all he had to say was.. dude you shipped it when I didn't have the $$ to give you..at that point I would have said...happy B-day....so to you my friend..if some one here sends something to you with out getting paid first..its cause we care and we want to help..even if you didn't have the cash and got the part with out knowing it was sent..you should have PM'd me back to at least say thanks..its been 2 weeks and still no answer..even if the part did not make it .there was no reason to skip out on my PM's... i wish you luck my friend..

SORRY FOR TAKEN YOUR TIME GUY'S
RANT OVER........

Hopefully he will, that was wrong. Give him another week to man up and then you should let us know who it is so n o one else gets taken. People like that have done it before and will do it again. NOT COOL to take advantage of anyone especially on here.......

I for one know how you are Ron. You have sent me a couple thing without asking for a thing in return. Thanks for that. But, I have been in the same situation you are in right now. Remember the guy that Roland and I rebuilt his turbo and I gave him my wheel?? Not another word from him. There has been a few more but you get the idea. You did a good thing, so that is about all you can expect sometimes.

Is there any way he never got it?

I deal with shipping stuff all the time, and things go missing and late frequently.

Ron, I can only say that most of us here are old enough to know better, ya know, brought up right, and the younger ones see this in what we do. Hope he grabs a big slice of humble pie and owns up.

Sorry to hear about that. It seems to be more common these days, especially amongst the younger generation, to not make the effort towards common courtesy, politeness, etiquette, and respect. Not that I'm that old, but todays society and its level of civility seems far from what it was when I was younger. I appreciate your rant and don't blame you. At least you've got karma on your side.

Hope this doesn't discourage you the next time. We all appreciate the advice and the trust we have here. I have been on the giving and the receiving end of some very generous offers from people. Hope this is just an isolated incident.

Thinking outside the box. Maybe he is on vacation or something and he is logging in through his dingle berry.. I know first hand that a dingle berry makes it real tough to see the page as it is intended. If i was on vacation i doubt that i would even see that i had a pm.. Even now sometimes i don't see that little thingy at the top right that shows i have one in my in box and it takes a few times for me to see it. It isn't like it jumps out at yea.

Another thought.. When my you double click my internet icon on my desktop it opens up the FTE site and logs in automatically. Which would show me online. But it is my wife and she navigates away to some other site on the net.. That would show me online and not answering my pm's. Last night shows me that i was online.. I haven't been. I have been snowplowing.. It was my wife using my laptop and she don't pay attention to FTE site.

Just trying to examine the possibilities. I doubt he is doing it on purpose(hope).. There has got to be an understanding reason to this other than evil..

Not long after i joined FTE. I helped out someone on FTE. Drove a big distance to pick it up.. Left work early to run to PO. Ending out costing more than i sold it for. I got a PM stating "thanks a bunch" I felt robbed on the thank you. Not even a Rep point. But in the long run i felt like i helped someone and that makes me proud. So i did it for myself. I have helped out a lot sense then and will always help. Even at the risk of getting bashed or broke.
