I will say this for the "Younger Generation", I work with a lot of 20s to 30s people and I am always treaded with respect and often asked for advice and they like to hear my life stories. I always treat everyone I meet and work with the same as I want to be treated. The late 30 to late 40 don't seem to have the same level of respect. I am in my mid 60s and am often amazed with the younger people and the level of respect I get.
I think it boils down to how you treat people in general as to the amount of respect you get back.
If you find a young person that doesn't live up to what you think is right, look past them to their parents. That's where the behavior started and was nurtured/natured. Oh crap, there's a whole new discussion.
Glad I'm not middle aged, I am one of the older ones on here. lol. I have the most respect for all the younger guys/gals on here. I don't think what was said was directed to the young men on this forum.
I been fortunate to have dealt with some great people on this site. I ask that members send me confirmation on a part's arrival; and I get one. Common courtesy. I know that we all have our busy lives and things get overlooked. Unintentionaly, but it happens.
I am extremely impressed by the level of maturity of the younger members of this forum. I try not to judge people as a group, but as individuals. Each person is responsible for their own actions. I am proud to count many young and 'young at heart' folks as my friends.
I've been paid and becuse of that I have paid it forward.I learned this from Rick (millerfeed) from a superchip he sent me,Thanks again Rick.As soon as I get a AE I will pass it along to someone else.
Also the post on here are a great gift of knowledge.
I am sorry this happened Ron..I dont believe it to be the regular thing here, but I hope some of the Newbies and some others pay attention to this.. Pay it Forward may not have been started at this site, but it is most certainly practiced here..

You opened the door but I will keep this short. This is so true. Having been on a local school board for 14 years, we quickly learned why some of the kids acted the way they do. And with what they had to deal with at home, their actions weren't likely to change. We would also see what others had for a home life but they went on to become valuable, productive citizens that we were proud to give a diploma to. It still comes down to personal responsibility no matter what age you are.
Well...I am glad everything worked out for you Ron...that wuz a good thang u done thar...as for the younger crowd getting slammed, it's unfortunate that any of our members would feel singled out by that comment...from my perspective, the folks we have as members here at FTE are first-rate, all of 'em, at any age...outside of our FTE world, not real sure how i feel...this wonderful town i live in has been in the National spotlight lately for a couple of 14 yr olds having a gang related shooting, one dead, the other's life is over...and a UA-Huntsville Professor killed 3 people yesterday, and wounded another 7...she, yes SHE was in her 40's, and did it because she was denied tenure...so, at any age, anybody can be a dumb a$$...
On another note...@ a week ago, one of our members had some extra fun in the snow and ice and scratched up his truck and broke one of his rear tail lights...i got my new tail lights yesterday and was wondering if there was still a need for a replacement by this member...unfortunately, i cannot find the OP thread, and can't remember who it was...i don't want anything for 'em, just want to help out...does anybody remember who this was???

Ron, I myself had an incident with a part I shipped out, for free. Never got an email or anything from the recipient that he had even gotten it, I got a half-assed "thanks" before I sent it off, but zero feedback since, no acknowledgment that he even got it and that it worked out for him...so, it happens.
I can tell you that I learned a lesson on that one. If I have something to give away, I'll need to know who they are and have seen them around for a while before I ship anything off to anyone...kinda harsh but, c'est la vie...

Same here. I've been on the receiving end of some spectacular offers.

Agreed. I feel indebted to the system because of various things members here have done for me.
