Can someone tell me if there is a heated intake spacer that will fit on an E-brok manifold under a holley 1850 carb? When the temp falls here (right now its 12 degrees) my 390 refuses to run. When it does, it loads up sooo bad!! It takes forever for it to run right. I tried leaning the carb out and it doesnt help. The cold weather does it in everytime. I know on my other 360 2bbl's I have a stock heated manifold setup. I wish I could find one for the 4bbl manifold tho bec this cold driveability crap is driving me nuts!
regards
Ben
I'm not sure if the factory 4bbl engines had the heater spacer like the 2bbls did. You should be going richer in colder weather. Maybe the choke is not functioning properly.
64 mercury!
I dont think there is anything that old in the boneyards around here LOL IN all seriousness, I was thinking of a place to buy one--any ideas? Summit? FYI rat, the choke is manual and i never use it! This sucker is just running wayyyyy to rich when the temp drops!!!!

Ben
Might rebuild the carb. Not normal for an untouched engine to run richer in cold weather. Colder air has more oxygen in it so therefore like to run with a little more fuel.
THere are other cars that use the same spacer. I bought
a carb for the 64 merc and it came in the next day, the spacer
could probaly be gotten new without much trouble.
Might be worth checking out while your at the parts house.
