Spend the money and get Permatex "Right Stuff" silicone to seal the diff back up. (can or caulk tube) Some silicones and other sealant can seep oil, the right stuff won't.
The man speakth the truth. I had to redo my cover after using RTV silicone. "The Right Stuff" is the way to go.
Its all good stuff.
Make sure you clean all debris out of the pumpkin.
Also use some Brake or Electrical cleaner to clean up
the mating surfaces of the pumpkin and cover when
finished. Either of these will dry with no chemical
left behind.
It is better to use full 100% synthetics in here.
Like Mobil 1, Royal Purple, Redline, Amsoil, etc.
They come with the additives already mixed in.
Any other brands are not real synthetics, no matter
what the label says.
Okay sorry for the late reply. Got The over off, cleaned everything up, slapped on some silicone and threw er on. I had to use some synthetic Valvoline 75w 140 which definatly wasn't my first choice. After driving around town allll day, that was the best I could find....It did not have and friction modifier in it, and I did not put any in. I had an idea that my clutches were pretty crap, and I must have been right because I hear no noises coming from the diff when turning. I had not had the chance to test er out yet so we'll see how it works...
