I agree on wood accents on the door panels, kinda like how my Excursion does as an accent above the armrests. It would make it look luxury, and classic all at once. Maybe polish it up like glass too.
A solid wood door or dash would give it a redneck-pirateship hillbilly-mexicano look. Pardon my Franch. Just like drinking and cocktails: always in moderation.

I have some wood in mine. I made my dash out of wood. Be forwarned it can be a pain. Mine is a 66 and it had a lot of curves to deal with, frontwards to back up and down. I had to make mine in pieces. I think I had like 30 pieces. It came out ok but I think I would have done it differently if I coulld have figured out how to do it better. I also have wood for door pulls, which I think for me turned out great. I also made trim rings for my door pouches. I put wood under the radio to add the other stuff for the radio. I have side rails as well out of wood that the wood came out of a country music stars childhood home. I made the glovebox out of wood as well. I made a speaker box behind the seat thats not seen as much.
Photoshop would be a excelent idea to give you and idea if you like it or not. If you see a picture it may help you to deciede what you want to do.
Remember on your truck that its yours, you should fix it up the way you want it if you are not doing it to sell. One guy ribbed me a lot because I had some wood but I am happy with it and it doesn't matter to me whatt otheers think. You can look at my pictures to see it. If you need more and its not against the rules I can post a link to more pictures. Or you can email me and I can send the link.

thanx for the response I have decided to nix the wooden door idea for now anyway.....the theme of my truck is a..... what if ford made a woody truck in 52 ...the only way to do it correctly would be to take a set of doors reskin them 3/4 recessed from the window line down.... fill the area with appropriate wood ... basically using the door frame and building an exterior facade .... this way it would be flush with the rest of the cab ....As was mentioned before I wanted a woody truck not a wooden truck...When the notion strikes me I will do it on a spare set of doors so i can remove them if i dont like it ...Right now there is just too many other higher priority things to deal with ...I sure would like a link to your pics thanx woody

I have a whole lot more there than here. The main reason I used wood was I was doing it on a small budget. I did all the work for about 2 grand. I rebuild woodworking tools as a hobby as well and woodworking. I had all the wood and it was a lot easier for me to spend the time and put maybe 20-30 bucks into the bolts, varnish compared to hundreds in replacing the parts even if I could find them. Keep up the good work.
