Havin' a fine weekend...except for the whole 'going to Conway to pick up my kid's Suburban so I can put a new engine in it for free' thing.
Sometimes being the pushover dad bites it.

Thankfully none of my kids are of driving age yet...but as of yesterday I'm already planning ahead. Two brothers and I purchased a 10k car hauling trailer yesterday. Figure an Expedition would be the heaviest thing we drag back to the house (one of the brothers has one). Who would have thought a '07 4WD Expedition is heavier than a '04 F250 CC 2WD?
Good luck with that road trip to pick up that "boat" and dragging back to the house.
Zhilton: The "kid" is in his 30's. They bought this thing from his wife's grandfather. The kid put a new heater core in it and I'm not sure he put antifreeze back in. We had that stretch of single digit days a while back and one morning when he started it to warm it up all heck broke loose.
Let me tell you, that Sub was longer than the trailer, and even with it pushed all the way to the front of the trailer it was real light in the front end. My buddie's 90-something F-100 was being pushed all over the road...35 mph all the way from Conway to Fox. A long day.

Reminds me of a "recovery trip" one of the brothers and I made a couple of years ago. Lets just say an Edsel on a utility trailer pulled by a '72 Ranchero isn't a good idea. Especially when the trailer doesn't have trailer brakes. That was the moment we the 3 of us decided if we're going to keep doing stuff like this we need a real truck and trailer.
Morning Steve, y'all going to get any snow off that stuff that just left here yesterday headed your way?
Heh, it at least looks like the tow vehicle comes close to outweighing the load. No way that 1/2ton long bed 4x4 of my buddy's outweighed the Suburban/trailer combo. That plus the axle placement on the trailer made it a fun drive home.
Hey Dave, is that a home or shop/factory built trailer? Good looking a trailer, is it a 10k or 14k? Two brothers and I purchased a 10k pound cap trailer last weekend. We're going to have to do some work to so that it fits our needs...but the price was right.
