ive got a 1968 ford f100 and ive a few questions that maybe someone can help me with.. ive no problem with the steering wheel however my lady "big girl" cant seem to fit in the drivers seat and drive the truck. ive changed the stock 17 1/2in steering wheel to a 13 1/2in grant but the clearance it gave is only from the bottom bench to the lower end of the wheel is there a way i can lower the steering column without major work or much knowledge on these trucks?? as i said im new to this and still learning the ins and outs... any help here would be great!
i also am having a few other problems with the light switch but ive read that they frequently burn out and are not that complex to replace
any help here would be great!!! thanks in advance for any help!
Unfortunatly there is no good answer for plus size people. The cabs on these ol trucks is just small. Rick Allen from Carolina-Classics.com posted that he has cut columns for people that created a leg issue without helping. Smaller diameter & less offset is your best hope.
starmilt, Sorry bub but "WRONG" the seat in the all the way back position hits the back of the cab, and never touches the gas tank.
ok so basicly its a no win situation.. its not imparative that she drives she just likes the truck and wants to play too lol...
i heard somewhere that you can put a tilt steering column in this model is that accurate?? i thank you for you help!
tomorrow im gonna check the tranny fluid... manual not auto as im hearing a bit of roughness in reverse and 1st or rather 2nd gear... 4 speed with 1st granny.. im willing to bet its a lil low.. maybe while im at it i'll take some pix and post em on here and show her off! shes a beauty!!
