That's about where I'm at on my project. My motor is out of an 87 T-bird. I just put the motor in yesterday and I'm still fighting the tranny mount. I'm using the T-bird mount, but it has the tail-shaft up too high. I'm either going to have to find a shorter mount or drop the cross-member. What is your tranny mount off of?
I have useda tranny mount from an Aerostar, don't know what year there can't be that many. I just went thru the parts shelves at the dealership and found that looked right. LOL

I had O'Reilley's order me one from an Explorer that appears to be shorter in their picture. It comes in tomorrow. I'll look up the Aerostar part # as a back-up plan. Thanks! OBTW, I like your truck so far. I'm assuming that's an AOD tranny?

Got the Box on today. Started on it last weekend and threw my Back out of wack! Still Sore but got to keep moving forward so I can keep ahead of Pat! The Fuel Cell is sitting a little too high so will have to shim that down about 3/4 of an inch. The Box Frame doesn't quite match the frame holes so I am going to have to redrill the holes on the frame. Guess that's why we put them together then tear them apart again!

The Two Fords Together - The 69 is getting Jealous so I had to put a picture of him in thread to make him feel better!
George,
You've got some skills my friend - I just went through this thread from the start - amazing! I like the way you keep your forward momentum. Tell me more about that engine you put in there.

Jealous Ben in Austin
Ben - I bought an 86 Cougar that had been rolled for $300 and tore the 5.0 liter engine and AOD tranny out of it. The engine is a full roller, ballanced within race specs, with a set of Roush Heads sittin on top. It should punch about 370 to 380 hp. I will be purchasing the computer, injectors, wiring harness and Mass Air this winter so I can hopefully get it running by spring. Money always seems to be what I am short of! Thanks for asking!
