looking for a steering wheel for a 1975 F100

Hello, all

Recently i had to drop an aftermarket steering wheel into my 75 F100
due to the original having a HUGE crack it it that ran from the back all the way acrosss and into the front of the wheel. As nice as the replacement looks, Id rather have an original wheel in there. Problem is that all the salvage yards around my area carry only late model stuff, and every one ive seen in a parts catalog run anywhere form 300 dollars and above, and id rather use that kind of money to fix my truck bed. If anyone knows where i can find a used one in decent shape, please let me know .
My truck is a 1975 Ford F100 Custom, 2 Wheel drive with a 302 V8

thanks!!!

Troll your area junkyards for another one that isn't badly cracked, then you can use fiberglass to fill in what cracks are there, then sand and paint the wheel. That's what another user did, but I can't remember his name.

If I had been interested in keeping my old wheel in the truck, I would have at least tried this method before running out and spending $2-300 on a reproduction. I'm keeping my old one just in case I need it, but I'm leaving it as-is for now. Got bigger fish to fry.

I might be the user that Bowtie is refering to. I redid my original wheel and it turned out pretty nice. I have another original steering wheel w/ the horn pad that could be repaired if your interested. shane@sandenwood.com

Hmmm.. it's possible to rebuild something like that? Ill have to look into it perhaps. I have heard of a company that does that. The aftermarket wheel I picked up is an older style Grant.. I got the wheel, the adapter and a puller from Advance auto for under 30 dollars, but i will definitely look into repairing mine.. You say that body putty will work?
