I bought my 2004 F-250 and the previous owner must have spilled some solvent on the display dulling it in spots. I have polished it out as best as I could with plastic polish. The question here is two fold. Can the lens be removed, I removed the dashboard but the lens is "glued" to the display, or is the a better way that plastic polish to get rid of the solvent runs.
I removed mine some time ago. It took some gentle prying but if you take your time with a sharp chisel and small putty knife you'll get it off. If you break the old one of course you'll still be ok since you're replacing it anyway. Any left over plastic or glue can be sanded or scrapped off the edge of the bezel fairly easily.
