Do you talk, text, and drive?

I was pulling into In & Out this morning, and had to gently work my way past Gilbert FD & PD. They had a guy on the sidewalk strapped to a body board, waiting for an ambulance. The only car I saw was a Mercedes SUV, and I really didn't see too much damage on it.

Recently, the music teacher at my wife's school was seriously injured and helicoptered to the hospital due to a serious car wreck.

With all of my travels, I see people EVERYWHERE talking and texting while they drive. I am 100% guilty of that myself, and am really starting to question how smart that is. I tell myself that I am focusing on the road, and try my hardest to actually do that, but hell nothing is so important that it can't wait 10 minutes. If it is, I could always pull over.

I cannot text & drive with my new phone; it'd take two hands, and I know that is 110% stupid. So ... do you talk, text, and drive?

.........I dont even own a cellphone.
And as a Rider, Ive lost count of how how many times Ive been cut off or damn near run over by inconsiderate yay-Hoos yakking on the phone or texting. Use to be bad enough when it was ladies putting on make-up or people reading the newspaper on the morning commute...now its just freaking ridiculous.

try the link, I don't think I have to log in to this site.
Texting ban while driving CMVs officially appears in Federal Register - T_news2869 - News - J. J. Keller & Associates, Inc.

The link yields an internal server error. Not sure why.

8 years ago I swore I'd never text. I have come to use it quite a bit because there are a lot of times I don't have the time to talk, or just need one question answered, and (for me) texting is easier.

I need to buy a hands-free device for my wife's car. I know she'll never give up talking & driving, so making it a tad bit safer can't hurt.

Don't text, don't even allow it on my phones.

Am guilty of talking. But I do pull over if it's going to be a long conversation.

my son just put a blue tooth enables stereo in his truck, when you get a call it shuts off the radio and the phone talks through the stereo, it even has a built in mic. when the call is ended the stereo goes back to normal. I am considering this for both of my trucks as I am on the phone constantly. my current phone has 166 hours of call time! dang I get a lot of calls!
