Hello. OK I just purchased my 01 Exped. three weeks ago, and there wasn't a owners guide. Well my question is how do you remove the third row seat? Thanks.

get around back, pull tilt adjustment lever to lay seatback down on seat bottom, pull up or bar at rear of seat bottom, lift up and pull out.
If you are a small type you may want to grab a friend to help you out as it is somewhat heavy and cumbersome to handle.
BTW, most '01s should still be under factory warranty, is yours?
check the build date on the drivers side door jab.
call Ford customer service and have them rigistar you as the new owner and transfer the balance of the warranty to you.
they will also help you get an owners manual.
BTW2, have the VIN ready when you call and ask them to give you vehical service history, equipment and options.

Group,
I have a '98 Expy. I bought one of those lift kits for the third seat to keep it upright for the added storage space. It bolts onto the seat frame, it's not just a prop rod. They sell them on ebay for under $40, I like it, adds tons of room onto the rear!
They sell on ebay for BIG bucks, if in good condition! I've seen them sell for over $300, and then they had to pick it up! BUT, if you have someone to give it to that's just as nice!!

Is this some sort of gas rod or something that keeps the seat upright when you fold it, so as not to have to remove it entirely? Any pics ? Sounds like what I need. Do you know who manufactures it?

Greg and group,
I bought mine on ebay months ago, I see them from time to time listed for the expy's. It's not a prop rod, they have them too on ebay, but rather it's an attachment that allows you to pivot the seat forward, fold down the holding bar, insert the pin, and the seat stays in the upright, forward position. It was less than $40 I think, and works good. I had trouble getting the pin in and out, but if you file the hole a tad bit bigger it works fine. It's easy to install too. I just checked, there's one on ebay now: Item # 1835757730
The folding rear seat prop attachment is really nice, the only drawback is it does block a tad bit of the lower view out the rear view mirror, not much but it is noticable. But then again the Expy sits so high seeing much of anything out the rear window is a chore!!
Hi guys I hope I'm not breaking any rules here. I am looking for a third row seat for my 01 Expedition. I'm watching E-bay I haven't found anything yet. I am looking for a tan color cloth or leather. This site is interesting hope to talk to you soon.
