Can someone point me in the right direction for a quality set of HID bulbs? I get on ebay and have no clue which ones are good. Also, for those who have them, are they "plug and play" or do you have to modify the wire harness.
Not sure if this is what you are looking for, have not heard any good or bad reviews, but might be worth a look-see. Modifications etc., I'll leave that stuff to the guys that know

Thanks in advance!
I sure hope not! Anybody running those in a road vehicle ought to have to drive against them!
I'll be posting a complete retrofit for the 2009 Superduty within the next few weeks. I did one for my 2006. I will be using Acura TL bi-xenon projectors, bulbs and ballasts. I just picked up one new headlight for $100, and another one for $125. I am waiting for the second light to arrive and the project will beging!
To the original poster:
Please do not put HID bulbs in a stock halogen housing. You will blind other people on the road and will actually have worse performance than your stock lights. Regardless of what some may say... HID kits are garbarge.
Got a friend that put some on an Excursion. I will see what I can find out. I know nothing about them at all but noticed he had a box with wires coming out of it that somehow connected to the lights so its not a matter of just swapping bulbs.

LaxPlaya21, I am definitely interested in seeing how your project turns out, but I’m curious why you say the HID kits are garbage. I would think by now the aftermarket folks would have fine tune their kits to specific vehicles to work correctly without blinding oncoming traffic.

Well, most of the kits are made with cheap parts and come from China, or Taiwan. I use to run kits in the fog lights of my car. I can't tell you the number of bulbs that went bad, and the number of ballasts that needed to be replaced. Then the company that gave me a lifetime warranty, went out of business haha.
I am sure the kits have become better in quality over time, but the bottom line is the Ford headlight is designed for a halogen bulb, not a HID bulb. The easiest way to explain it is, imagine the optics used in prescription eye glasses. They are specifically made for that person, that persons eye (bulb) needs that specific optic to see (illuminate the road) properly. When you change it, you will not get better performance. It will look brighter, it will be bluer, but you will be blinding people. When you do a complete retrofit, you are using a bulb, and projector that were designed to go together. You are using high end, quality optics that will blow away any kit on the market. However, with this quality comes a price. However, on my 2006 this was the best return on investment of anything I put on the truck. Check this site out for some ideas.
Thanks everyone for the replies. For the record, I have driven against people with the bulb upgrade, they are pretty popular these days. Yes some are stupid bright, but I attribute that mostly to improper adjustment which you can get with standard bulbs as well. I am looking for a nice bi-zenon(sp) bulb that will provide me with a better brighter light (for reading signs etc.) and to give a very bright, clean light when I hit the brights. I am often pulling a loaded trailer down mountain highways where elk love to play chicken with my new SD. I would like to have the ability to spot them sooner without installing a set of KC's on my bumper.
I also understand that there are other, possibly better ways to upgrade headlights but I am not really interested in spending that much or taking on some type of custom retro project...yet
i have a 02 with the 07 headlights and i went to intensehid.com i have had no problems with them there good imo
Can you explain how difficult it was to in stall 07 headlights in a 02? I have a 02 F350 and would like to add HID's and would like to know the in's and out's of correctly installing HID's. Why can't I use my original headlight units?

How about adding additional lights, like PIAA's are some other 4" spot/flood type lights that you only use on the dark back roads? The best way to get more light out of you stock headlights would be to upgrade to a better higher wattage bulb with more lumens, and upgrade your wiring harness to feed more juice. Sticking a HID kit in there will be a waste of your money.
i dont know but im putting them in my 04, i have two cousins and a friend with a dodge that just did all of them in the past two weeks and they are awesome!! my cousins only did low beams on their chubbies and they rock, my buddies dodge did high and low and its actually looks like night and day. i dont know about canada but they are legal here in the states because my other cousin whos a cop ordered a set for his f-150 too
