I went to replace my glow plugs because I've been having trouble startin the ol' girl this winter and noticed I had a broken injector return cap on cyl. 7. It's off a '94 IDI turbo and I can't seem to find these caps anywhere... I can find a whole injector install kit that comes with all of them, I also have the part number(F3TZ-9A564-A), but I can't seem to find them sold separately. Does anyone know where I can get them? I'd rather not go to Ford if I don't have to. Also, my glow plug bullet connectors are starting to fall apart, does anyone sell these or do I have to make em myself?? Thanks
Your local International dealer should be able help you out. Personally in a case like this I get the whole kit and replace the o-rings and caps along with the return fuel lines. Take them all off the injectors intact and cut your new hose to match the old. Lube your new orings with petroleum jelly and reassemble. As far as the tips of the bullet connector crumbling it is common and as long as it's clean reassemble with some corrosion inhibitor paste and it would be fine. If you need to replace them you could use a nylon terminal or go to your local Ford dealer deisel mechanic and ask them to save you an old powerstroke harness and reuse the glow plug ends (same connectors). Or again International. Solder and shrink tube the connections, NO butt connectors, added resistance through corrosion will only hinder the proper operation of the glow plug controller.
As far as I know you have to buy a set, I always keep the old ones in case I crack one.
When you replace one you have to at least replace the orings on the whole bank.
If you disturb the reeturn lins even a little they will leak air and it is nearly impossible to replace orings on one or two without causing a leak somewhere else.
Definitely do them all, that way you dont start getting gremlins farting around under the hood. The whole set with caps line clamps and orings only runs about 30-40 bucks. Small cost for something so important.
International dealer does not have a set (at least here they don't) Their book does not show any type of kit under any name. They do carry the individual tee's,90's, clamps, O rings and hose. I spent around $22 on return line parts for my dad's 87' last year at International.

That is weird that international couldn't help you. I'm thinking a partsman that was not familar with these. They are listed under injector install kit, I think.
I haven't bought any from international or ford for several years, but unless they have changed suppliers what I have bought was better quality than what I got from napa last I bought some. I will be replacing them with some from international next time.
I am afraid if I ordered some on the net I would get inferior parts again.
Two parts guys looked through the computer and books for fuel return line, injector install kit. One guy asked whats it for? I told him the small tee's, ell's ect, fuel line and clamps. He said they don't carry a kit, just boxes of all the parts. We just make up what we need!
That is strange, but not suprising. I orderd a part from international in amarillo and still didn't have it three weeks later, so I happen to be in lubbock and go ask how long it would take for them to get it. They had it in stock and this is the same dealer, but he said they didn;t stock the same stuff.
