gear help?

Ok so I did the check for my gear ratios.. I rolled the truck, and after one revolution the driveshaft turned 3.75 times. So Im guessing the gear ratio is 3.73? So now Im wondering why truck is at 2k RPMs and only doing like 55mph? could the overly wide tires cause this? they are 33x15.50s. any suggestions?

Your speedo is off, with those size tires and 3.73s at 2000 rpms you should be at 70mph, get speedo checked or corrected

Are you in OD? I have 4:10 gears and 2000 rpm I'm doing 62 mph. Find someone with a GPS and see how your speedo is doing.

I hope that my tranny is just now warming up enough, today it only reached 100 degrees, maybe thats why the TC is not locking?? Maybe

Before fixing anything I'd make sure the speedometer is reading correctly.

The torque converter should lock with the ATF at 100°F.

Is it hard on the tranny to run it cold?

We always talk about cold engines and warm ups, what about the tranny?

is there a way to stop the TC from locking? is there a reason why one might want the TC not to lock? is there a tune that could stop the TC from locking? I ask all this because I dont know what previous owner may have done?
