I've actually got the stock wheels on it now with 35s. They don't rub but look like sh#% and the rub marks are not showing up with a little dirt.

Sounds like a wheel fitment issue, backspacing not correct?

I too am torn on what to do. A year ago, I lifted the truck 6", and put on the 35s/18s. I've since wondered of I should have went with 37s/20s. Well, I just got a call from my local tire dealer that said he had a deal for me. Some used 37s and a deal on a brand new set of 20s. Pretty fair price too. So now I'm really wondering what to do. I like the looks of the 35s, but wonder if my truck would look better with the 37s.

If you all don't mind, take a look at this picture and give me an opinion? Should I bump up to the 37s/20s? Or just leave well enough alone....

Thanks!

Scott

personally i like clearance over a mud tire, and would normally say stick with 35's....... but yours being a crew cab long bed, 37's might look more at home under all that truck. i love the way it looks now, but if you've got a smokin' deal on 20's and 37's (which is a bitchin' combo, btw), i think i'd do it if it were me.

nice trailer too... i have one alot like it!

yeah you should have waaay less backspacing then that. those might work on an '05+, but definitely need to be out more on a leaf sprung truck.

crazy too, those don't look like 37's on 20's.. looks more like 18's.

Well, I'm pretty sure I do want the 20s, and the wheels will be brand new and a brand new style. There is about half tread left on the M/Ts so I guess if I decide i don't like the 37s won't be as long before I'm due for tires. Hmmmmmmm.......what to do......

would a 3in body lift eliminate the rubbing caused by the wheels being made for the 05+ SD.

37's no rub

I can only speak of my own experience. My 04 F350 SRW has had a superlifts 6 inch lift from a week old with BFG TKO all terrains 37X12.5x17 and have had no rub and have full steering lock to lock. All I had to do was trim the airdam a little bit and kept the same contour so it doesn't look any different.
I can't remember the wheel brand. The front tire side wall comes even with the fender lip. I am thinking about going to 35" tires low rolling resistance because the last couple of years i hardly go off road anymore.
Are there any guys that have pics of their trucks with 35s on a 6 inch lift?

Richard (formally Surprisef350sport) lost email and couldnt get in.
if you look under my gallery you can see my truck.
