I have a 302 & on the side of the block(drivers side) there is a
small aluminum tag that says AUTOTEK REMANUFACTURED ENGINES &
it has these # 6GZI38X---then there are 2 more small aluminum tags
one says A.E.R. Mfg 171896--the other one says A.E.R. Mfg 464866
can anyone out there help me out? I cant find any # stamped on the block.I went on the internet & typed in AUTOTEK REMANUFACTURED ENGINES & it came up with a company in calif.the guy there said that
they did not work on that engine & since i am on the east coast it
must have been some company on the east coast.Has anyone ever heard of them or know how i can get in touch with them? I am sorry for the long post.
I got nothing from a websearch for Aerotek Engine Remanufacturing, either. They may only sell to shops.
Rebuilders commonly put tags on engines to keep the parts together in their shop. There's no real information to be gained from "decoding" the numbers, it just relates to a shop order.
Maybe this is it? AER Manufacturing, a remanufacturer of OEM engines. They have distribution centers around the country, clicking on the Distribution link it says Ford Authorized Distributor: AER - Manufacturing
