I on my truck, in the last 4 years, have ran one set of BFG A/Ts (wont ever again, barely made it over 35k and didnt perform like the hype) 2 sets of Dueler A/T Revos (another 40k tire, did well except in mud) and Im on my second set of Goodyear silent armours. The goodyear I had gotten about 45-50k out of. Im my experience, the silent armours perform equally, or better than the BFGs, in all conditions. The Duelers slightly outperform the Silent armours on wet roads, I notice I skipped a little more accelerating from red lights, when I cross the white lines. The Silent Armours perform better in snow then the BFGs on my truck, and do exceptionally well in mud/offroad. But I always have tire chains just in case. No tire works exceptionally well on ice, out of the three, I would want the silent armours on ice. The silent armours are the first tire for me to last more then 40k. While the Duelers would just make 40k, and the BFGs, well they barely made it over 35k. Must be my driving style. One guy were I work demands his trucks to have the BFGs, and he doesnt get 40k out of them. Im not sure if he makes it much over 30k, untill he insists he needs new tires. I think if someone on here is having trouble with the silent armours in snow, they need to remember to put some weight in the rear, our trucks are very, very nose heavy. Im sitting at 9k, with nearly 50/50 weight distribution. My truck does exceptionally well in the snow, in 2wd even. Just my .02

My first set of BFG A/T's went 55K miles

Second set were gone at 25K.

I'm now running Kumho AT KL78's, and right now have about 30K miles on them. They are about half worn, so 50K should be easy to reach. The bonus is they are much much much cheaper than the BFG's, and perform better in snow. Overall I've been very pleased with them.

Well said about the wt in the rear. I have a cousin who had an 05 F350 4x4 SBSC and totaled it when he lost control doing about 30 mph in a couple inches of snow last winter. The cop that attended the accident said he has seen a number of these trucks in the ditches up in northern BC in the winter. He said you need a minimum of a 1000lbs in the rear to make any difference with the amount of tourque these trucks have. He survived.

my tires have 80,000 km's on them, and look almost unworn... but they are normal tires and not mud tires.

I paid 140$ each for them, and they are 10 ply.

I don't remember what theyre called, but i'll look if i remember...

I am looking for a decent set of AT tires that are good in the mud and decent in snow. I am tired of being stuck with my 285 Michelin LTX M/S tires lol.

I have had cheap and expensive tires and unless I keep my highway speeds down I get terrible wear (no more than 30k) Now that I live in CO and don't drive long distances at high rates of speed my tire wear has improved big time. I currently have a set of hankooks that have 30k on them that still look great. Those wide open spaces of Montana were hard on tires!!LOL!

I have 30,000 miles on some Hankook Dynapros. Installed in November of 2008, they still look new! Tread is not even close to being worn, no road noise, etc. I think one of them may have a slow leak at the valve stem, because I have to add air when it gets really cold, but I've had that on all brands of tires.

A family friend who is a tire dealer recommended these Hankooks to me. They were $578 for all four.

I have Yokohama Geolander ATS on now with 40,000 on them. They still look fairly new and my truck it always loaded (contractor shell full of tools, racks, and materials). They perform great in rain and snow and are quiet on the road. I had always put BFG ATs on my trucks, but I will be sticking with these.

What did you say? $578 for four tires? I'd almost buy 2 sets at that price!

No, not muds. My truck almost never sees any mud. The muds are about $175/ea.
