Ford said it was throwing a ON THE WAY OUT CODE for the Fuel driver module
The user OBD scanner would not show the code.
Because it was on the way out it would not run the monitors. Here is the article for the fix, as soon as they put it in and drove it down the street the monitors flipped to ready. Mine was cracked and rusting on the circuit board.
Unlike the article where is had a hole.
Woody!!
Does this fix the emissions error of: monitors not ready, catalyst, oxy sensor, heated oxy sensor??? I just bought an 04 in ATL and live 150 miles away.. Got home and ran through emissions and failed.. No check engine light is on either.. HELP!!!!!
I'm new to this forum I bought a used 2005 Ford F150 XLT Super cab well it needed both inspections and emmissions. Here my 02 sensor, 02 sensor heater and catalyst were not ready with no codes or egaine light. I tried everything well I stumbled across this post last night and wanted to refresh this and let everyone know that my motitors were ready and passed emissions because I replaced the fuel module. Thank you this forum saved my butt.
i have a 2000 f150 4.6L, i did reset the pcm for a pending code but have driven over 250 miles and still cant get catalyst and evap monitors to turn to ready. also, when i first hook up scan tool i believe it used to say engine off key on MIL status??? what should it say for MIL status? im going to try the drive cycle steps but try driving 50mph on trhe highway and not getting run over. Any help? i may cchange my battery it is 6 years old but i havent had any issues due to the battery. Is there a hose I should look at or clean out? im not sure if there is a pcv valve either would that work?? truck runs perrfect no skips no DTC's, no rough idle and same gas mileage i had when i first bought it. around 320 miles/tank. HELP!!!!
Before wasting any time doing ANYTHING else, find out how many "incomplete" monitors are allowed. Many jurisdictions will allow up to 2 for that old of a vehicle, but some do require the catalyst monitor to have run. Because of this, you need to KNOW what is allowed for your particular vehicle.
Do NOT change your battery right now as that will simply put you back to square one.
what should it say for MIL status?
MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp aka the check/service engine light) should be OFF. If it's ON, it's an automatic failure at the e-test.
i did reset the pcm for a pending code
What was that pending code? It could shed light on why some monitors have not yet run.
Only have a not ready for evap. Called and can't have any monitors at all saying not ready. Changed gas cap and does seem like it feels different than old cap. New one has some resistance as I turn it in. Drove around 50 miles still on . No dtc's . Guess I'll keep driving it. Anyone have procedures for checking emissions componets
Called and can't have any monitors at all saying not ready.
Call someone else, that answer was probably wrong. If it was correct, hardly anyone would pass in the winter months since the EVAP won't run when the temp is under 40-45°.
And you have a 2000 which, under EPA recommendations, may be allowed up to two.
Does anyone have the link for 2000 f150 for state of ct on which if any monitors can be Inc,? I've been looking but no luck. Would a purge valve solenoid be open and not put up a code? I'm hoping the new gas cap will work it's only been 2 days since I put it in. Took a week for all my other monitors to switch to ready after clearing pending code. A while back had cylinder 3 skip due to water getting in plug hole I sealed that hole up with dielectric grease . Also, had a used rear end put in truck back in march. Same ratio 3:55 but it's not a LS like original. Any issues there that would maybe cause an issue?
You will need to call the main office of whatever department manages the program in your state. They don't have the specifics laid out on their website.
