order

Do you have vin number?

If your vin number hasn't been assigned yet, thats why the dealer can't do anything either.

you need to find someone who works there. Usually your dealer can track it too

vin

I'm a little lost here!

You have a full vin number and build date of 2/22? Correct?

I just called my dealer, he just told me that i will not get a FULL vin number until the truck is being built and things getting added to it. Which he won't get full vin until roughly 30 days before delivery????

I do have partial vin LOL

Is there something wrong with this picture or is it the way it goes?

What date did you order your truck? I ordered an F250 King Ranch 4x4 6.2l on 1/27/10.

In light of the post regarding the production line starting on the 22nd, it looks like I will be getting my truck built sometime the first week of production. I sure hope the early mules and the spare parts production runs have worked the bugs out of the line. What was that old line about getting a Monday morning or Friday evening truck. I wonder what they would say about getting a first week truck?

Getting a first week truck would not be all that bad. The line is usually slowed way down giving folks more time to do their respective job and a way higher percentage of trucks are selected for QC using a much finer comb...

It should also be noted that anyone who had a build week or build day issued prior to this week will likely need to add a week on to it, so if you have a scheduled build week of 02/22 it is now likely to be the week of 03/01. Unfortunately Ford rarely updates the order system to reflect delays, so you will likely have to wait till its built before there is a clue as to what is going on...

There is a vin number before it is even started to be built cause i have had trucks build date moved up by 3 or 4 weeks before. stay on your dealer for vin#. then i will see what i can do.

Correct, VIN's are issued at the same time the scheduled build week is issued. So, anyone who has a build week also has a full VIN.

BTW... People who have the ability to track Ford vehicles do not need the VIN to do so. It can be done just as easily with only the dealer number and order number...

the first dealer i went thru never even got a dora from ford, then come to find out they were going out of business. I would have probably never got my truck. Had regional sales manager look up order.Wasn't even in the system!! They have been lieing all this time!!

i went and got my deposit back last friday and went to a different dealer yesterday and put another order in. He thinks mine will get pulled friday. They got the dora this morning.
So, looks like we are on right track this time. lol But still ridiculous!
