The last 3-4 times I've fueled I've noticed that the needle is taking a while to reach the new level.....
Never had to deal with this before. The truck has 280K so I'm not surprised.....
Anything I can do without removing the tank??
Thanks
I had a similar issue for a long time. Not sure exactly what it was, but the gauge told me I had way more fuel in the tank than I actually did. I had to track the mileage and reset the trip odo at every fill-up -- and always filled it 'til the pump auto-shut off.
I noticed that when it got really cold outside, the gauge became accurate. When it warmed up, it went back to being inaccurate.
I tried using different brands of gas with different additives, plus a system cleaner cocktails, as was suggested here or elsewhere. Didn't seem to help at the time, but eventually the problem went away and now the gauge behaves normally.
Okay, so that didn't help. But I feel your pain. Heh.
