I have a 1977 E250 and wondering how to remove the instrument panel to get to the fuel gauge(long story). I did remove the screws that hold the panel in place but I haven't gotten any further then that. I also removed the accesory panel and the radio to see if I could get the instrument panel out but no dice. Any help? might save me $20 from buying an aftermarket gauge.
yup, tried that one too. too stuffed with wires. Ford really knew how to stuff wires. It seems the speedometer cable is what's hanging the panel up but I don't know how to remove it from the panel without breaking it.
forgot to report back lol, thanks for the help rebocardo. The whole cluster looked brand new, never touched! and now i know how to get the darn thing out without breaking it.
hehe the po of this van had the tank selector valve taken out because he didn't know if the rear tank worked. also removed the dash switch so i needed to get behind the panel and run a wire to the gauge and another to the acc line. fun stuff.
