question about gen. reg.

Can you adjust the curent going to the battery? My
book says you can and has a picture but it does not match up.

It is possible if you have the right kind of regulator. Mine was non ajdustable and it wnet south and I'm working on replacing it. Im not sure how to tell if it is adjustable or not.

question about gen. reg.

The old generator regulators used spring-loaded relays to control voltage and current. By bending the spring mounts and changing the spring tension some adjustment was possible. If your generator or regulator dies the best thing to do is convert to an alternator system. The conversion is remarkably easy (for 12 volt system) and would be trouble free for at least 100,000 miles; not to mention plenty of current at low rpm.
