I am going to install 4 hella 700ff's on a light bar in the next week or so. I am going to tap them into my highbeam & also put 1 switchable toggle inside the cab. I have 2 questions. 1. I can trigger both relays from 1 toggle, right? 2. Relay location-where is everyone else mounting the 2 relays. Engine compartment seems to make more sense, but since I am using a toggle I must send wires into the cab anyway. If in the EC, where exactly? Thanks!
My relays for my plow are mounted on the inside fender well. If you put the relays in your cab you will need to run all the wires in there. On my Jeep i have 4 kc's, 2 relays,(mounted in the engine comp.) on one switch. If I remember kc has the wiring diagram on there web site. it was real simple.
Thanks! What about the grounds for the 4 lights? I would light to minimize wire clutter at the light bar! I thought about drilling the smallest hole possible under the back of each light tab & running wires through the bar for a pretty much complete hidden wire set-up. Has anyone else done something like this?
My relays are on the drivers side inner fender. Mine only work with high beams only. I started to put a switch on them aswell, but got to thinking, why would i need the lights without my headlights? So I jsut did it that way.
On my old bar the wire were run through the bar just use some silicone clear or black depending on the color of the bar to fill the holes after wires are run to prevent rust from the inside out. As for wire if they are available there should be four pass through wires up by you mastercylinder for the brakes on the fire wall (red, yellow, blue, black) i believe. These wires corespond to the same collors behind the fuse pannel on the drivers side. you can get to them by laying under the dash. this makes for a clean install without any more holes through your firewall for running wires. The relays will be fine on the inner fender. good luck
post some pictures when complete.
