has anyone came up with a way to run a solid pipe from the turbo reduction boot to the 6637. i thought a 4" flex pipe from a semi would work, but the final bend was to sharp. i think it would look alot better than the 2 pup pieces and would let a little more whistle out. surely someone has figured this out.

I'm assuming you have an early 99, here's a kit put together by Clay that incorperates that bend in the pipe, nice kit, no guessing . Riffraff Diesel: RDP 6637 Filter Kit
for those of us with an aftermarket turbo that has the adapter to it, could we just run a piece of piping from that to the filter? what about making the tube shorter? would there be any adverse effects from shortening the tube and putting the filter on a straight light with the turbo intake?

I was all set to order this kit from Clay, but there's not a pic of the pipe with the bend, and i wwant to make sure this kit will delete the factory accordian hose that Clay gave me at RRE2009...Clay, chime in if you want...
I think and I gather worm is talking about a pipe after the turbo intake pipe, sorta like deleting his CCV, running a 4 inch pipe from there then the bend to his filter choice? Not sure I ever seen a straight thru pipe, deleting that accordian style stock tube, unless you go with an upgraded turbo.. Reason: Edit
I have one. I can try to get pics tomorrow. It was a one off piece. I have seen a few others out there. No one can make them for a cost-effective price.
yes my plan is to get rid of the rubber accordian hose. i think a piece of 4" exhaust with a 45 bend could be used but i cant find one in town. if i order one and it doesnt work im stuck with something i cant use, or shipping charges to send it back.
