Question What's the difference?

What is the difference between 73'-76' front bumper and a 77'-79' front bumper?

I think either bumper will fit 1973-79 F150, 250 , 350. Just the design difffers around the license plate area and top edge, hoverver they both have there own type or style of rubber bumper impact strip and push guards.

It's just an aesthetic difference like oem mentioned, the 73-77 bumper is more "rounded" on the top edge, the 78-79 bumper is more "squared" on the top edge.

Well this is why I ask I think I'm finally about to get a bull bar and JBG has the black one and the chrome one for around 140 bucks. But they say they're for 77'-79 and mine is a 76'. that shouldn't matter right?

Yes it does. The mounting is completely different. I've posted this a couple of times. Take a look here: Ford Bronco and F-series Truck Forums - View Single Post - Factory push bar

From your initial post I had no idea what bar your looking at. Post a link to the bar. If it mounts to the frame horns then it will probably be the same problem as the original bar mount/bumper configuration.

Well the mounting may work OK as far as lining up but the contour of the bumper to brush guard is going to be different.
