Okay I am going NUTS here. My hubby has a 07 F250 Super Duty XLT, 2wd. He had an accident at the end of September involving a jay-walking deer (sarcasm) lol. Anyway, the deer hit the front driver's side corner of the truck. It crushed in right there and the battery box thingy was crushed and the radiator support had to be replaced. Well the shop says all is fixed but ever since then his truck has had some kind of electrical problem. First his battery light kept coming on and he checked the battery but it was good so he finally ended up replacing the batteries and the alternator just to fix it. Almost 600 bucks but atleast he thinks he won't be finding his truck dead anymore right? NO, since then he has replaced a few more alternators and a few more sets of batteries and it just keeps happening. I can't convince the man to keep a receipt for his life but whatever. It will do fine for days and days or even weeks then all of a sudden it gives him trouble again. He did find one spot where the wires were crimped over there where they did the work but can't find any other spots and what else could be making this happen over and over again?
Contact your insurance company and tell them that the truck is in need of additional repairs... and find those receipts! You should be able to file a supplemental claim with your insurance company.
He threw them away!!! He doesn't keep anything! Let me tell you his work pays for all his meals and he doesn't keep a SINGLE flipping receipt! The other guys get 1000 plus a month reimbursed for meals and my hubby gets ZERO. And if I don't get this truck fixed then he's going to break us buying batteries and alternators and crap and never fixing the problem.
LOL! Did he pay using Visa or Mastercard? If so, then you can contact the credit card company for a replacement receipt or use your credit card statement as documentation.
nope he doesn't like to use the credit cards. He pays in cash. That's why he's driving me nuts. I told him that about the cc's too and he still won't use them.
I know atleast once at NAPA and once at Walmart, and I do believe some things were from Autozone, not sure about the rest. He does a lot of driving and most of them were bought in little cities inbetween the location and whereever he was headed at the time.
Wow, sounds stupid to me... All batteries have warranties, and he just went out and bought brand new ones? It amazes me how someone like that could afford an 07 superduty....
I know, he's making it real hard. He doesn't paythe bills, he just works and he thinks he makes enough to buy whatever and not have to think about money. Driving me NUTS I tell ya!I talked to him again a bit ago and he says so far 7 batteries 2 alternators and a wiring harness. UGH. 2 at Autozone, 2 at NAPA and one alternator, 2 at Walmart and one today in Hobbs somewhere, he doesn't know the name. The other alternator he actually did trade in on the warranty (AMAZING!!! I am so proud, even if it was just one item) and the wiring harness was from Gene Messer Ford. So I'd say he's in the range of oh, 1800 bucks now and the problem is not resolved.
